A search for a new antivirus solution brought me to the clam antivirus (http://www.clamav.net). This is an open source antivirus toolkit for Linux systems.
Had some difficulty getting started, but once started, it is a great product to stick with on Linux. By the way, this software is available for Windows systems too. Try it out.
