To Open up a terminal window on your Linux computer, press Alt+F2 to pull up the following window.
You will see a terminal window. At the $ prompt, you can type any commands. This is also called the command line in Linux.
If xterm does not work, enter terminal. If you use XFCE, then xfce4-terminal will be the application that opens a terminal window.
