The missing item on most cell phones was an Instant Messenger. Finally, here is one in beta – Slick. It is just like Pidgin and is a multi-protocol instant messenger allowing you to chat using multiple accounts like Yahoo, Google, MSN, etc.
Download Slick from http://www.lonelycatgames.com/?app=slick. Versions are available for other mobiles running Android, and more.
Install Slick on a Nokia E63 and you can get full chat.
There is one key difference between Slick and others like Fring and Nimbuzz. Fring and Nimbuzz use proxies to connect you to Gtalk, Yahoo or MSN, but Slick connects you directly. You are safeguarded as you do not need to reveal or store your user ID and password on a 3rd party system.
