SaveAPK is an application available on Google Play that allows you to save the APK files of downloaded programs in a local folder on your phone. You can then copy these APK files to a safe location as backup.
Whenever you need to, you can either install them back onto your android phone from Google Play or you can install them from the local folder. Saves some money using the network when re-installing them.
