Workaround to the Android Web Browser Vulnerability on old devices

If you are one of those who has an older Android device, you are vulnerable to the Android Web Browser vulnerability, whose patch may have not been released by your handset manufacturer. There is still hope for you to keep yourself safe and secure by any of the following methods:

  1. Disable the internal default web browser and use either Firefox or Opera if your phone can take it
  2. If your Android device is out of warranty and you are willing to accept no service by your device manufacturer, you can install Cyanogen Mod in place of the default Android firmware on the device.

Apart from the above two methods, the only other method available is to get rid of the old device and buy a new one, which is an expensive option that can be avoided by using Cyanogen Mod.
